Topsites is a program that ranks websites on the number of votes they recieve. The higher the votes, the higher your rank will be.

Once you join, you will be given a small unique HTML code to place on your webpage. This code will act as a portal for visitors to vote for your site. The higher the number of visitors that click on this button, the more votes you will recieve and your site will proceed up the rank. The Top 10 websites will have their banners displayed on the Topsites main page and anything under the rank of 10 will have a text link displayed on the Topsites listing.

We also have a anti cheating measures that only allows one vote per IP address every 24 hours, so this will protect the legitimate websites & deter the cheaters. Cheaters will also have their total votes reset to zero if they are caught and repeat offenders will be banned.

Topsites is a great promotional tool for your Tupac website. You will recieve 100% targeted advertising and the best part is that its free to join (other targeted advertising programs will probably cost you a great deal of money). Tupacnet.org is currently recieving approx 31,600 hits per day (as of Sep. 14th) and we wish to pass some of those hits onto you as a webmaster. You never have to worry about promoting the topsites listing page. All you have to do is try to get votes for your page and I will look after the promoting of the topsites listing.

You can also check how many votes you've recieved in total ("In") and how many hits you've recieved from your listing on the Topsites program ("Out"). This allows you to check the click through ratio of your banner and you can change your banner to improve the click through ratio. If you do not understand this concept, don't worry. It will become more clearer to you if you join.

This section is for previous members who created an account before 15th February, 2001. If this does not apply to you, please disregard this message.
If this applies to you, there is an important message we wish to pass on... As you may already know we moved servers and some of the files for the Topsites program were damaged and were not recoverable. First of all, we want to apologize for this. Secondly, we ask for you to join again and not let your votes go to waste as most of you probably still have the HTML code on your webpage. To keep things simple for you, simply follow the steps below:

1) Sign up to the Tupac's Top websites program and make sure you create an account with the EXACT same login name as your previous account. You are free to choose whatever password you wish. (very important!)

If you don't know what your previous login name is, check the HTML code for the vote link. Your HTML code should look something like this:

http://tupacnet.org/cgi-bin/topsites.cgi?YourLoginName

Where the word after the question mark (?) is your login name.

2) By signing up with the same login name as your previous account, you won't need to change any HTML codes on your webpage for the "vote link" and all votes from your page will be valid and counted.

Alternatively, you can however create a whole new account with a different login name. You are free to do this, but you WILL need to delete your old HTML code for the "vote link" to the new HTML code you are issued.
